Yamaha coupling

    Is this diffrent coupling from standard? with a Kawasaki rubber? Its fitted to my SJ , im was just suprised to see it is all.

    ...it does look different...perhaps it's all Kawa?
    I have 2 superjets and a blaster II in the shed
    ...they all run:
    metal coupler with with three teeth each
    and the rubber donut has 6 teeth

    these are yamaha ones on the spares box

    A few companies make billet couplers for Superjets. They use the Kawa damper as it's considerably smaller and therefore the coupler is lighter due to the reduction in material req'd. Has a similar effect to lightening your flywheel. However, it's likely you'll drop 20g, not 200..

    Thats probly what it is then, Just had a look at he flywheel and it looks like its had a bit of machining also. Supose it all adds up.
