    Heya,

whats the easiest way to fix a striped thread on a chin pad nut. I am guesing I am going to have to drill the nut striped nut and re tap it... is there an easier way? the nut looks to be fiber glassed into the chin pad.

    Cheers

you could try heli coiling it
I am not sure how much pressure you can exert on it

theyre a ss formed screw thread coil thats inserted in the nut.

had to have my stock muffler bracket heli coiled cos the threads striped.

Dont know if it will work on such a small nut especially being embedded in the glass.

    good luck

if the nuts big enough you could drill it out (to the right size) and run a larger tap through and get a larger bolt to fit...

Altho I havnt pulled the chin pad apart so im not sure how practical it is....
