    About time to update this...

Thought i'd show off mine and Wendels first attempt at installing footholds and turf. A few things I'd do differently next time, one of which would be putting extra padding in the top of the footholds cos the tops of my feet get real sore, the other would be not trying to do 2 skis at once!

old mat removed, -found petrol was best at getting the glue off.

Using the router to cut footholds worked great.

glued in and shaped some 10mm foam to fill the indents on top of the sides, feels better on the elbows when you are getting back on too.

used 10mm foam under the turf

Wendel wanted the tray and dash panel covered in 1 piece of turf with the diamonds running opposite to mine which meant both sheets of turf had to be cut different. Have made templates for next time!

Managed to heat and stretch the turf enough to cover the sides and footholds in 1 piece.

nice and tidy man you must have been keen to do two skis at once! Is that closed cell or spongy foam on the rails and tray?

Way too keen! we regretted it part way through, but after the turf being so dam hard to do never would have got the motivation to do another one.

Its closed cell foam, did both skis from a $10 bed roll from para rubber.
