Howdy all! Been a long time lurker on this site, and thought it was about time I signed up and got involved. More then likely Ill be asking more questions than answering them though!

I got myself a reasonably tidy Yamaha fx1 last October, and have since given the engine a complete rebuild early this year after bit of a blow up. Judging by the condition of the engine it was long overdue for a seize anyhow so I wasn't toooo bummed. Put it all back together with sparkly new bits and it runs beautifully.

Ive got the basics down and am pretty confident on the thing, but probably not quite the buoy carving guru I pretend I am! It has a pro-tec rideplate and an unmarked aftermarket intake grate of the same purple colour, so I assume its also by pro-tec?? It also has a stainless solas impeller of an unknown spec. All being said, Im absolutely loving it. Bring on summer!

Sounds like one of my or rogers old skis from about 15 years ago with the protec gear, that protec stuff is the best for the FX1, put a pipe on it and footholes and hit the waves with us

Haha yeah they are a handful! Tough to learn on, especially when nearing 6ft 5'........Love it though, and Ive definitely got the hang of it well and truly. Do you guys have that issue with the ass end slipping out and trying to slide?
