Hey mate that wouldnt happen to be the waterfalls the way to kerikeri... had a place in russell and went up that river when i had the sit down... would be a mean camping ground with all the skis for a weekend
Hey yeh, I thought i reccognised those falls. If it is, its a brilliant spot for skiing , and as ya say camping grounds right on the river bank, a motel too i think :roll: maybe. Nice ski man!

looks mint is that the camping ground from where the picture was taken? if the weather was sunny and hot it could make a sweet trip away! imagine what the locals would think if we put 20 odd skis in right there!
I have reasons to believe you are indeed correct. We should all go up there for a few days at Xmas-ish time. Only bout 10 mins out of Paihia one way, 20 mins from KeriKeri the other I think. And theres even a Yammi dealer just out of Paihia. approx 258km from Howick, 3hrs 52 mins
yep hiruru falls, mint campground, swimming pool, bar, bbq, cheap to stay. was a real good few days. its tidal tho, that pic is right up, when its down you aint skiin back to the campground, keen to go whenever a group can.
it could well be fresh water for so far but it runs off into the ocean... that inlet also runs of to heaps of others... if your keen can head over to russell to their camp ground and theres a beach i was at last weekend called long beach... gets some pretty good surf when the swells up
It's all comin back to me now :wink: I remember dad and I walked from the surf to the falls in about an hour, so its anything but fresh! but would still be a cool place to stay for a couple o days!
