Had a bit of a mishap this morning. Just playing round with some small wakes.....came up to one, gave the throttle a quick blip, pulled my handle bars up aaaaand snap. Broke my handle bar off. Was just dangling by the throttle cable! Soooo I'm up for some new handle bars. Who makes some direct bolt on replacement ones for a Yamaha FX-1?? I'm after some bolt on replacement ones. Ones that utilize the factory throttle, kill switch, chin pad etc. Also, would stainless ones be the go? Or stick with alloy? Cheers guys.
the aftermarket ones are made from aluminum that is about twice as thick as the stock ones. http://jetskijunk.co.nz/en/762-blowsion-kommand-bars-0-degree-bend-with-crossbar.html
Ah sweet! Yeah those look like they'll do! What are the 4 degree bars like? Or stick with the zeroes? In fact what would the factory ones be??? I've never paid much attention to them, and I haven't taken the broken ones off my ski yet to have a look either.
Standard OEM ones range from 4deg through to 8deg or even worse. Don't even consider getting 4degree ones - go for the 0 degree and don't look back.
Get Odeg bars and make sure you get a set of odi grips at the same time or you will have nice bars and no grips, you will also find that your FX1 feels way more stable once you put a set of these bars on, gets your elbows out
One last question.....I'm looking at getting these grips http://jetskijunk.co.nz/en/654-lizard-skins-odi-lock-on-grips-logo-.html Will they mount up to the blowsion kommand bar alright? Or will i need more hardware? Whats this ODI clamp system thats mentioned on the page? I was anticipating getting new bars and grips, but is there anything else i need to get the grips to work? Cheers guys.
Ahhh nah probably not! I'm super snowed under with school work for the foreseeable future unfortunately!
