    Can anyone pls tell me...

The check valve coming off the fuel tank (one way valve)
Does it need to close off completely oneway?

I can blow easily thru from one end and when blowing thru the other end it only closes approx 98% (still a fraction of air gets thru.)

To me this is stuffed I believe it should completely seal... what problems would this cause by not sealing 100% or is it ok to continue using it as it is?

    Cheers again!

Its just to stop water from coming back up into the tank. Most skis have a water trap... I don't have anything, only a piece on the very end of my breather which is double skinned so minimal water can go up. Works well, except when the ski is totally sunk. It will still have to allow air back into the tank to avoid a vacuum, wouldn't worry too much if I was you

Are we talking about the same thing?
Are you reffering to the water catch filter thingy mounted on the side of the hull with the screw in bottom cap?

I am talking about the small one way check valve on the air ventilation hose sorta sits down by the battery.
    Cheers
  4. my skis not no valve at all on the breather hose and never has had. never given me any problems. mine goes up the pole to keep it mostly out the water.

I always thought they were more to keep the gas in the tank when the ski is upside down and allow air in so the tank doesnt collapse as you take fuel out, rather than keeping the water out.

They are there to hold pressure in the fuel system it makes it easier to set up the carbs
You dont have to run them
they are one way to allow air to enter when the fuel level goes down
From memory they will start to flow back the other way at 3psi
this stops your tank from exploding in the hot sun

    Quite a handy thing
