    Hi Everyone,

I received news from Dax this morning that he has been involved in a very serious accident (Not sure exactly where and when). He was testing his ski, after rebuilding the pump, in preparations for this weekends ride. He was virtually stationary and got hit by a boat load of idiots going way too fast.

He is now recovering in hospital - high on morphine. Injuries are, but not limited to, fractured ribs, punctured lung, split spleen, liver and serious internal bruising.

Its bloody awful to hear that anyone has been in a accident, let alone at this time of year. If anyone receives any further info please don't hesitate to post it.

Thoughts go out to Dax and his family. Wishing him a full and speedy recovery!!

Yeah mate all the best for a speedy recovery.
Every summer I watch all the boats going to fast in the 5knot zone straight past the harbour master and he does nothing about it. But when I ride out at 5knots he makes me stop and gives me shit. Thinks it because my skis black :D

Not to sound like a negative fuka but this got very little press. I bet that if it was a jetskier that hit a swimmer it would be on the 6 oclock news. My two pence worth. How is the ski Dax.

Hey all, thanks for the support. I'm now out of the high dependancy unit and am in a standard hospital ward now. No surgery, they have to keep a close monitor on things as the liver and spleen can bleed badly internally, if things worsen then they may have to operate but so far things have been progressing well.

What happened....I was stoked to get my pump back together, aligned and engine back in. So rather than go straight to the port on Sunday I thought it was a good idea to test it up the river. About 500 m up the river I went to turn sharply, like 180 left to head back to ramp. Out of nowhere I got ran over head on by a 5.5 tinny, all I knew was an almighty crash and the most excruciating pain I've ever had. Sent me flying about 5m. I had only just turned on the spot, so hadn't considered he was bearing down on me. Suspect he had intended on giving me a fright or something, even if I hadn't turned he'd have been too close.

I'm lucky to be alive, damage is but not limited to:
    Cut and bruised liver, bleeding
    Partially collapsed lung, bleeding
    Cut and bruised spleen
9 broken ribs and broken sternum
    Cracked teeth
...probably more, lots of big words they use.

Jet ski apparently is fine, has a scrape on its bumper but that's it.

Won't be jet skiing for months, so keep the vids coming.

    Cheers
    Dax

dax, thats good news you dont need surgery... as much as you can live without a spleen you need it for immunity - dont want to be sick all the time.

Hope you are well, and they are looking after you on the wards. Give us a yell if you need a medical translator - though Im sure you are getting the best care anyway.

Glad ski is ok - perhaps someone should write to the press on our behalf? Jet Skiiers have such a bad rep - would be good to point out that some boaties are pretty irresponsible!
