ANNUAL WAIKATO RIVER RUN – SUNDAY, 13TH DECEMBER, 2009

Not long before the big day. Hope you can all come along and enjoy a great ride up to the Full James Rapids, followed by a bbq lunch.

    TIME : 10.30am SHARP - Launch skis/Rider’s Brief. 11.00am - DEPART ON RIDE.

    Directions :

From Taupo: Go north on SH 5 to Rotorua. After passing Golden Springs Holiday Resort (on right hand side just past the Mihi Bridge) turn right into Homestead Road, then right into Halcrow Road and this road merges into Vaile Road. Just past River Lodge, on Vaile Road, is a house on the left hand side with a Rapid Number of 457 and opposite this is the Ramp – with a Rapid Number on the gate of 489.

Alternative Route for those coming from Hawke’s Bay: Turn into Spa Road and along Spa Road this merges into Broadlands Road. Turn left into Vaile Road and follow this road up till you get to a house on the right hand side with a Rapid Number of 457 and opposite this is the Ramp – Rapid Number of 489.

LUNCH : A bbq lunch will be available for all riders/followers in the reserve area above the Full James Rapids. No set charge, but a “gold coin donation” please.

Cans of drinks will also be available - $1 each.

Vehicles will be available to take extra fuel (needed by some for the return trip), extra refreshments and other items to the Rapid’s reserve area.

Bring a tow rope – just in case!

Helmet – for those daring the rapids.

For any further information, contact either Phil on 021 885 082 or Meg on 878-5579/0274 490 111.

Sorry dude, Have got two of us coming down now. That is if we wake up early enough and are in a state to drive haha.

Worst come to worst we can tie another one in the back of the surf but its not ideal
