Hey just wondering whos going to be keen to do the annual river ride again this year at the waikato river?
Yeah if I have something running by then I'm keen to bust some shit... its not til later in the year tho? October or so last year wasn't it?
Hopefully we can launch closer to the rapids, I know of a private boat ramp but gotta get the key off the locals maorees.
there is a ramp that the jetboat uses about 200m upstream from the main rapid. as far as i could see there was no gate or sign and it was on the side of the public road still some 100m away from the actual jetboat place. someone have a look on google earth or something. im all up for launching close as to save my gas for doing jumps.
Yea its an awesome day! We just have to remember its not all about us and that some people enjoy the river ride. And hell it gave us time to shake the hangover lol. Il be there again this year!
...of course... we don't have to wait... we can organise a trip ourselves...and then go again with the hawkes bay club in November again? - they certainly organise it well tho - (cakes and coffee was indeed a nice touch, thanks Hawkes Bay)
Just heard report that taupo lake is just about to bust its banks! How bout a day trip to the rapids? they mite be pumping! what you think?
I dont think you could even go through at the moment the water would be moving so fast through the narrow part where the full james rapid is. Would be good to go and check it out for sure.
