hey guys, rebuilding a yammy 1100 triple at the mo and have got in fairly deep so giving everything a once over. Been looking at the reed valves and they definitely need a good clean but have noticed some of them are sitting up ever so slightly, is this a concern?
Any hints and tips on reed cleaning and care much appreciated, cheers

A small gap is ok just makes a little harder to start ideally you want them to sit down flat they may sit flat once you clean them or flip them over ( what reeds are they ) ss, glass or carbon
We use carb cleaner on everything
You want to make sure they are real clean as if there is any crap it will go straight into yhe crank and through the motor
Let us know if you need anything as we run these motors in Taynes race boat

thanks for that, they appear to be glass, heres a photo of one that has a small chip off the corner and sits up particularily high (it's the worst one). Might try a clean and flip it over and see if that helps. Next question is where do I get a new gasket? Haven't priced new genuine but can imagine it won't be cheap.
