Everyone, I spoke to the organisers (Tauranga Club) of the event this weekend regarding the classes/cost for the pole skis and blasters. Pole Skis can enter the 750 class. This is being run as a tour class and not just a fun class on the day as there are regular tour competitors that have raced in this at previous events. Blasters will, at this stage, enter the Naturally Aspirated Runabout class. SPXs and some bigger boats will be in that class but you can have your own fun (I assume). There is a small chance, given numbers, that the blasters may race with the 750 ski class. Cost - to enter either class for the day will cost you $70. If you want to enter both then its only an additional $20 on top of the $70. They are discounting the cost of buying a race license for the day (which is usually $25) to FREE - so its just a $70 entry fee saving you $25. There is no cheap fun class this year. The club that is hosting the event have explained their reasoning and that is since the event is part of the North Island Summer Tour the normal entry fees should apply. They're happy to give you a free license though. Costs have escalated for hosting an event - ambulance, insurance, council fees have all risen and thus they didn't think it fair that the regular competitors that have supported the tour for the season should continue to be charged the regular entry fee whilst others get a cheaper rate. As an organiser of events I know the cost of running these and 99% of the time the club will make a loss on hosting it. However, it is s shame that there is no fun class that is affordable for those wanting to give it a crack. It's highlighted that, probably the Auckland club, needs to put together a fun event or two where those of you that aren't scared of being abused by either Norm or Mark to come and have a crack at some racing in a fun, relaxed and most importantly cheap environment. I would have had a go if it was going to cost $25 as its just a bit of fun, but $70 is way too much. Thought they'd have wanted the interest from the Dalusion riders, but clearly not. Depends on you way of thinking, but the way I work it out the cost of running the event won't go up by adding a couple of fun pole ski events. It adds interest to the event and if its cheap enough will make them a little bit of money from the Dalusion riders rather than nothing. 10 x $25 = $250. 0 x $70 = $0. Their loss, lets hit the surf and leave the fags to ride in circles around buoys.
Yeah, now that would be wicked. We'd need a beach with surf that isn't bad for spectators, the Mount main beach would be superb for it but I reckon getting permission to do it would be near on impossible?

Is the Hopper ride still scheduled for sunday? If we had been free sat prob would have rode for 25 but dont care enough for 70 sorry DW...
dont apoligise to dick webb hes just passing on info from the tauranga club he was just making sure everyone was well inormed not making decisisons on hearsay if it was up to him there would be a fun class and we could all get involved to those who think racing is gay go fuck yourselfs better still keep your comments to yourself until you have something positive to say On the subject of a free ride we need people like DW who no all the procedures to set this up (not as easy as you all think ) even if we set up a freestyle event and it was the best event ever, you self centered wankers would find something to winge about. wrong weekend ,surf to small /big, not enough hot promo girls and norm rode beter than all of us why should he get his own video Have a nice weekend to you all

Fair call Terry, comments were meant tongue in cheek and not to offend. Guess the reality for most of the surf riders is that we don't have the time or the money to be able commit to following a tour around the country. Those few that race and surf ride are clearly completely committed to the sport to the levels that occasional weekend surf riders like me can't be. I'm pretty sure all the Dalusion riders that rode last year in the fun race class had a great time, I was looking forward to having a go again this year. Hope the hopper memorial ride is still on?
Ive said it before and will say it again...Jetskiings for fags and your all a bunch of front bums!!!!!!!!!... I might go and watch the racing cause that shit is Awesome! Those sitdowns like Sickboi rides are wicked to watch going round and round and round and round and round and round and fuck it im not going lol. Let us know what the plan for sunday is...Bloody mothers day but might be able to get a leave pass.
