Annual marathon day ride. Run now for 5 or 6 years. We have had up to 12 skis and as few as 3. We have gone beyond the Iron bridge about 70km each way. This year 9 skis and up to Berlins cafe 35km each way. No water in the river, everyone had some sort of drama, damage or spill. Met 5 other skis on return trip, great day had by all

Solid pics! That run must be a bit cursed, last time we did that run my exhaust bolts worked itself free disconnecting the earth strap and the bendix imploded, was good times! Only needs a few more big rapids. Good feed at Berlins though :p

What happened to the Yamaha Couch?

Hi there, Jase is that the same superjet you had back in about 2000 when me and the boys came over for a few surf rides?
I havn't been over for ages and would like to get out in the Buller and surf been stuck over in CHCH riding the lake and social racing which is good.
Currently working at Mike Phillips jetskis so right into the supercharged skis modding them etc and racing sxr's
Have spoken to Steve a few times on the phone buying bits for the ts's
Me and a work mate are keen to come over if we do will have to get a few locals out for a session.

    Cheers,

Jason, sounds like a plan. The timing is the hard part as a few of the guys have a bit of O/T at the moment. The rivers coming right after some rain so a run up to the iron bridge would be a good idea. Theres always a plan B if the weather shits as the surf is good and the shingle beach has had some great waves.Yes still the same superjet, evolving slowly, not on steriods like some.

No water in the river that day, everyone hit something, Glen had to strip the jet unit to remove a rock. Heard rumours that 2 of the chch guys we met that day had a serious crash?? Lots of drama

    Re: Marathon

Must have been tuff running, can't kneel down when you are tired like you do on your ski.
