I have a few questions for ya: I have been running my superjet with an aftermarket flame arrestor and no outerwear. I have only just got it going again after replacing the crank seals and took it out this weekend, it was running great then suddenly stopped and wouldn't start again. I pulled the plugs and they were wet (i.e. with water) I gave them a clean and it started again no problem. So my question is: is it possible this was caused by water being sucked into the carb or do I have to look elsewhere? - there was a bit of water in the bottom of the hull. And next - where do I get outerwears from? Cheers.
outer wears do help, but often you still get water in there at times. I ended up ditchin those type of filters...letting me down - sputter out of the way of oncoming big waves... I think the standard air filter set ups are best for keeping water out be sure to be running the cover over the drive coupler- as it would make a mist of water in engine bay if water in the hull
i used to run riva pod filters with covers. In the surf water still got sucked in. I have gone back to the stock black air inlet and have had no problems. Most of the guys in the surf run the stock air inlet.
Hi. If you mean do I get water in the blaster. yer it gets a little wet in there. I still have the two black air inlet tubes to divert the water down in the hull. I dont have a bilge pump and just use the stock venturi system and it seems to work great. After each ride I would have around 2 cup fulls of water which is drained out the back.
Redtro hit the nail on the head, also check for leaks off the water lines it only talks a small pin hole to spray mist everywhere. Can't beat the stock air cleaner for the surf.
i rode my ski for a while with no driveshaft cover, very anoying. I also have tau ceti flame arestor with the outer wear on it. I found that the outer wear hindered perfomance quite significantly. Im going back to the stock airbox this summer
