Hey im thinking about making some UMI sealed bearing kits and shortend turnplates for yamahas and just wondering how many people out there would be keen for one. They will be made exactly the same as the blowsion ones. They retail for $175 USD and im going to be making them for half that.

Also thinking about making some shortend pole brackets that are the same as the one from R and D.

How many people would be keen on getting one?

Pole bracket could be the go for me. Iv already got the full UMI Steering Package so dont really need another turn plate.

I have looked in to getting this stuff made today. The turnplates have to be laser cut out and are priced at around $100 each depending on quantity and there is a bit of mucking around with them afterwards like drilling and tapping holes. With only about 3 places in new zealand that can laser cut 8mm aluminium our options are pretty limited. They are $54 USD to purchase from blowsion and retail over here at $148 each. Probably not worth making them if you can get them from blowsion.

The UMI steering kit is not too hard to make but takes alot of time and has to be accurate. The price at blowsion is $135 USD and they charge nearly three times that in new zealand. This will be made coming up this winter.

The handlepole bracket is really easy to make as well and at $250 USD at blowsion it is worth making but with summer so close its not worth making at the moment.

So there will be some cheaper stuff to purchase coming in to winter. If anybody has something that might be worth making cheaper post up something and we will see if it can be made.

What about flywheels? non charging, surely can't be too hard, and stuffed it I am going to pay $575 US for one... I hate to think what they retail for here in NZ (I haven't asked)

Balancing them would be a bitch but the hardest bit i think is making them strong enough. I would hate to see a flywheel chop right through ya ski. Nah pass on that one.
