in the weekend my ski was running sweet and then some how in the drive from the boat ramp 2 my place it stopped working. it seems that its getting know spark , changed plugs and charged battery with no luck. are the coils and leads pron 2 failure? can some1 please tell me the best way 2 find the fault. cheers douges
it would seem that they are ... judging by the last week's posts about coils. be sure to check all connections and stop switches etc before coming to any conclusions though. its more likely your stop switches are shorting than a coil is rooted.
He's pretty slow on the old email/contact. Let me know if you haven't seen it by end of week, I can go pick up and send to you
here is another wee tip for you yammi boys, kawasaki coils are sposed to work as well and are cheaper , well ive been told haven't checked for sure that they are cheaper
thanks korned! yeah i found that when i had kawis, that everything else was fucken expensive! ive also ordered one from ebay , so its a race to see which shows up first! titty vs USPS then at least ill have a spare or have one to sell on to the next person here who needs one OVERNIGHT! lol
They definitely work, and are about half the price of Yamaha coils. Before replacing coils, cut back the insulation on the plug wires and give the wires inside a pull. the wires are prone to breaking at the last 25-50mm before the boot, and cutting them back will sometimes restore the spark. Whatever you do, do not purchase the MSD coils, the carbon inside will not last nearly as long as the OEM Yamaha or Kawasaki coils...
ive tested the coil at the other end. there is a dead short across the incoming pulse side when connected the pulse is dead (because of this dead short) when disconnected the pulse is pulsing 12v the leads are most likely fine lol
