figured id get something to protect my noggin after seeing what mangroves can do to a ski...let alone your head. i saw these on trademe and figured they looked alright and for a decent price, there only 1kg and have removable washable liners. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Sports/Cycling ... 920343.htm ill post some feedback on what theyre like but $49 delivered seemed cheap enough
Ive been look around for a helmet and sore these ones 2. The ones from the bike shops are around the $200 make. If you get one let me know wat its like.
the guy who sold it said it had a removable liner, but the liner cant be fully removed, it doesnt fit very well either, my head size is 58.5 i got size 56-58 and its still quite loose, im gonna have to add more padding but i would recomend getting a better quality helmet.
yeah, fuk it! i bought one too, quite the cheap helmet, chin strap too far back, will almost lift right over backwards...... will see how it does in water.
yea not recomended, if you have a dive hood and stick it on underneath it helps a bit but not perfect. :?
Get a bell ballisitcs down hill MB helemt, they cost a couple of hundred but they last well. I got one a cheap full face helmet and killed it within the first week
GUYS!!!... it's your head, face and teeth! ...why are you even considering cheap! havn't recent events demonstrated the need for good helmets? ...the ski won't perform well if you've brain damage safety first
I bought a Giro Remedy - see post http://www.dalusionfwx.co.nz/forum/view ... highlight= Cost $174 and is a pretty decent helmet, no metal bits to rust. I went around a few mountain bike shops in Auckland to see what various helmets were like and figured this was one of the better ones. Cost up to $450 in the shops, but if you look around online you can get some good deals. The site that I bought mine looks like they no longer have em though. If you look out on trademe they come up cheap from time to time too: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Sports/Cycling ... 976711.htm http://www.trademe.co.nz/Sports/Cycling ... 561770.htm
Full face helmets are the way to go! last summer i split my chin open on the handle bars doing a stab, 5 stitches in your chin aint fun. Spend the money and get a decent helmet you wont regret it.
im with dax on this one i have a giro remedy as well . very comfy helmet and holds up really well in the water . ive been useing mine for a year now and its holding up great .
Fox Rampage for me. Great fit, tough, looks good and you can mount a Quick Strap goggle retention system. The only good thing about a cheap helmet is you might not survive the impact and therefore won't have to dwell on your crap choice of headwear.
