Harvey norman are having a sale on the Panasonic FT1 camera $264 dollars Same camera as used by knoxie for all the dalusion video's also sox and dax use these as well (and possibly others of you out there that i havent met) Its a pretty good deal if any one is after one
The one and only time I used my panasonic FT1 in the surf it let water in, although others have had a pretty good run with them. If you want a waterproof sports video camera its probably better getting something thats designed specifically for that purpose.
We have never had a problem with ours and neither has Butch who does the ozfreeride stuff so i'm beginning to think that you shouldnt be playing with anything other than computers Dax :lol:
Knoxies ones like mine a ft2 made in japan the cheap one is made in china and not 10m water resistant think its only 3m. They look the same tho :?
I had an ft1 that let water in but panasonic were awsome and replaced it instantly with the newer model ft2 and never had a problem, and it's had plenty of abuse!
its an FT1 that we got ...had a ton of salt water use and no problems so far.... i think the one on special at harvey norman is the FT10 not FT1 (the FT1 was replaced by the FT2 awhile ago)...as Dan mentioned the FT10 is Chinese made ...other than that seems to be pretty much same spec
I had exactly the same experience, the FT1 leaked the 2nd time i used it in water (unfortunately on holiday in Tonga) but again Panasonic were awesome and gave me an FT2 thats been great since. I have a GoPro HD which is better for video and its got awesome mounting options for on the ski/helmets. The FT2 is great for still pics out in the surf though. That FT10 doesn't have the quality LEICA lens like the FT1/2 or as many functions/features but this probably wont worry the average user.
