roped into helping a family friend who has a polaris genesis 3cyl with no spark. Everything was pointing towards the cdi being rooted and reading that those models cdis are shitbox and pack up all the time i purchased a new original for $500nz from the states. Still no spark haha!
ok now im looking like a bit of a cock cause someone told someone that i was mr jetski or something yeah i ride a superjet.
Anyway After pain-stakingly reserching the impendance values for the stator i tested it and it all looks sweet except for the trigger coils ohms are like twice what they should be so decided to replace the stator. I took the front cover off and found metal shavings from something inside the cover at the bottom.
Now my problem is that because polaris use loktite on the flywheel taper i cant get the fucker off! and its bigger then a sj flywheel and so is the taper meaning its stuck like a bitch.
I went and purchased a heavier puller and modified it so it will fit in the space between the gas tank and motor. its wound up tight as shit and feels like something is about to break but the flywheel wont budge.
Watercraft world have a few new ones of these stators and will probably lend me one to try if i can only get the dang flywheel to let go.
Any ideas? burn it and say it got stolen?

can you get heat in there to melt the locktite?

I was just talking to Kevin from Ski md and he advises against heating down there next to the gas tank. There is about 120mm between the flywheel and the tank. I may have to pull the motor but dont really want to

Load it up with the pullers and give the fly wheel a wack with a metal hammer. I suppose you have done that though.

i left it for awhile and then came back and tapped it with a hammer and it popped off with a decent bang. now i have to try match up another stator.

for any thing like this in the future I have used heat guns to heat flywheel when in the ski(fuel tank close) and you can get a fair amount of heat into it and usually works well with little risk of burning anything
