sorry, i cant help with your request, but from my experience with buying cheap skis- which i have done several times in the past- dont bother. most skis in that price bracket have more issues than they are worth, and will most likely be very unreliable. unreliable on the water = dangerous. however, with some careful buying you should be able to get a good ski for 2500
nah sorry, not at the moment- you have to be quick to get a yamaha ski at a good price in nz. there arent that many of them, and once people own them, they generally dont want to sell them. i sold a SquareNose about 3 months ago for 2500, so they do go for that money. keep an eye on trademe - get new listings for 'superjet' sent to you every day. your other cheaper option is a kawasaki of some sort, but again, ive been there (5 times) of varying quality, and for surf riding i wouldnt touch another one.

your better off with a superjet even just a 650 for a start because when it comes time to upgrade you will still get decent money for a yamaha when it comes time to sell it.
heres a hint. if you can see tape everywhere and it generally looks messy, imagine where you cant see. ive owned 2 js650's / 650sx's. NEVER again. seriously, jetskis arent a $1000 hobby. you can either afford it, or you cant. sorry to sound harsh, but the last thing you want to do is waste shitloads of money on shit like i have, only to have it still worthless. another bonus of superjets is there is an abundance of 2nd hand parts, partly because most parts are interchangable between models, and partly because so many people buy upgrade parts leaving the originals spare
