haha yea hopefully we can just use Dalusion as a club. Probably have to look at regestering properly not sure if we are already?? Anyway Dalusion has always been detatched from the other NZ jetski websites cause were more into just riding without rules and crap then trying to collect cash from people with cover charges to events. We are probably the largest Jetski website in NZ anyway....

Do you really think thats a good idea?

When i said a tent to maybe sell stuff i was more thinking along the lines of maybe a shop that helps out could have wetsuits, vests, oils etc to sell. Or maybe some drink company not some dude trying to sell a 1986 pjs head off a x2[which i have lol].

Put the shit you dont want on trademe and either come to ride or come to watch.

Well done Tofa, We could try for some thing this year but it would be a mission to organise in the short time frame unless we aim for the end of April??? I won't be able to help ova the next 5 weeks as I am working in OZ dam 12hr nightshifts 7 days a week!!!!

I think we are on the right track with this event. Shocked at the council saying yes! Musn't have been the harbor master that talked to Me and Dan last time We rode there!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes Knoxie I was thinking of that too, Then we get in to member ship fees and more cost?? al la NZjsba (Norms mates he he) Not sure if we need that to run a event like this, Anyone know if we do????

Korned, Skill level dosen't matter the whole reason for the event is to get everyone involved. The more you ride with the Auckland Nutters the better your skill level will become and more fucked your ski will get!. God I sound like a life coach Shoot me now!

the nzjsba will have an insurance policy for events like this
If you do it on your own you will have to get your own insurance policy which may be hard or if you do it with out its a risk
And i am not sure that the council will allow you to do it with out public liability

I'm pretty sure you don't need public liability insurance to host this kind of event in NZ. In Australia they have the right to sue for just about any kind of accident, and so public liability insurance is definitely necessary there. In NZ we have ACC and they have a "no fault" policy for accidents, and just get on with rehabilitation. This is one of the major differences between the 2 countries - I have lived in both, and I can tell you, you need all sorts of liability insurance over there... and its expensive!
  13. I would have thought a disclaimer signed by all entrants would suffice. From memory that's what you sign for racing so that the organizers are exempt from liability.

    OK fair enough
Im not sure how it is over there
I wish they had the no fault over here so we didnt have to have the same issues

When i sit down with the council and harbour board i will find out what we need in place and then sort it from there.

If we need to be a club we can sort out whats involved to become dalusionfwx club or just get a club on board.
Its going to be alot of work but its doable.

Maybe if we get Red Bull or someone like that to run it we wont need to worry about any of that stuff?

Tofa, when are you going to meet with the council and Harbour board?

I think now that we are keen on this thing the people that are going to get behind it and help out need to sit down work out a plan.
Most the the guys that will be helping will be coming to the river ride so we could sort something out over a few cold ones on the saturday night maybe.

I will go see the harbour board friday.

Yes I had thought of that, Jim beam has a whole promotion thing even Scantily clad girls that hand out free stuff, I wonder how that works if it would cost us or if they just do it for free, then they have the insurance nightmare?? I will try and sus that out.

You want to get a radio station involved.. the rock, hauraki a station that targets your perferred audience, that way they'll plug it all the time on the air and also come down fire up a barbie a marquee and give away shit.

You want to give something with the entry as well, perhaps $50 entry fee, but this gets you a 'NZFC 2009 'competitor' tshirt and a bottle of a sponsors piss (jim beam, demon, red bull or wat ever)... sponsors will pay for these if their logos are present..

eg: yamaha, worx, local ski shops

may even be an idea to talk to a local media sch to get camera men, photographers to film it and make dvds etc up after the event..

If theres anything I can do from down here sing out.
