Hey guys jeremy here am new to the forum! Recently had a few goes on my mates partners pole ski. Its a yamaha 750 ex race ski and was awsome fun, quite modern like an 08 or something. I really enjoyed it and want to get one

Im not clued up on all this yet so can you guys give me abit feedback? What i have gathered so far is kawasaki an yamaha are the two main brands so id like one of them, preferably a yamaha. 750cc seems to be the desirable displacment of engine, i see theres some 650s out there tho possibly less desirable? That an i weigh 90something kilos so maybe a bit more displacement would be better. I would possibly be intrested in any age one price depending, in good condition or needing work

Can you guys give me some pointers/ models to look for, ideas of any for sale etc

Yea they tend to get snapped up this time of year

To give you a run-down on superjets:
    You’ve got :
1990-1993 “squarenose shape’ has 650 single carb
1994-95 “squarenose” shape- with 701 Single carb
    1996 – 2007 “roundnose” shape - with 701 dual carb
2008- Present “roundnose” shape with updated hull - with 701 dual carb

If its more than 701cc it would have been bored out, or may have 760 cylinder taken from some of the sit-down models.

The most common mod for more power is an aftermarket exhaust, most sort-after is called a ‘B-Pipe’ made by ‘Factory Pipe‘, a good thing to look for if a ski already has when buying.

Thanks for that some good info! Id preferably like something with the dual carb settup. And i gues the 701cc. Tho i guess with limited supply for sale beggers cant be choosers! Tho i guess the twin carb has abit more potential in it. Are all these models refering to yamaha"s?or kawasakis?

Knoxie's referring to Yamaha's only. They are definitely the preferred choice for any surf boat. The round nose (RN) hull is one best hulls to get into surf riding on.

The Kawasaki's come in many flavours as well. You have the following:

    650 SX - 650cc
    750 SX - 750 cc
    750 SXi - 750cc Twin Carb
750 SXi Pro - 750cc Twin Carb with updated hull over the SXi
800 SXR - 800cc Twin Carb. One of the best handling skis on the market. Mainly because its the size of the Wahine. Not ideal for the surf dues to its size and weight but a great ski to get started on.

Everyone on here will tell you to go Yamaha, and unless you're getting an SXR and putting it on a diet, then I would agree with that.

Depends on your budget and what kind of riding you want to do.

Ohk thanks for all that much appreciated. Budget is flexible, i dont mind paying less for something needing abit work or paying more for something newer

Dont waste any precious space in your head thinking about kawasaki's. start with a 1996+ round nose super jet and a 701cc engine and come ride with us
