kawasaki 750sx bendix replacement

    got me new battery and starter motor only to have the bendix crap out , the starter spins but wont engage the flywheel, How hard is it to replace it ?.. does the flywheel have to come off?..how much for another 1 ?...cheers

    i witnessed a 750sx get pulled apart last night....and pretty sure the bendix came out with out taking the flywheel off.....

    i think you will have to remove flywheel as the starter drive gear is larger then the flywheel drive side so it will not fit out around the flywheel

    on a yamaha you have to take the flywheel off i am sure this would be the same

    You may not need a new bendix, If it has been sitting for a bit (2 weeks with mine) it could have just seized up. CRC and some love fixed mine.

    Otherwise Roger has them for about $150 I think?

    Went down the bolt shop n found 1 to use for a puller, cost $11 for a 18mm x 1.5mm. Got the flywheel off. Crc'd the bendix and put it bk together and working fine now... fingers crossed!!!... Oh and yea it had been sitting for 2 weeks while i got the new starter off grey power (cheap aswell)

    do you guys have an ashdown in new zealand go there and buy it from them
