After a rather rough weekend on the ski I'm now looking for some bits...

    Anyone got the following parts:

    - A pole bracket, the metal bit that bolts to the pole and the hull.

    - A fuel cap cover, the cover that goes over the fuel cap at the front of the ski.

    - A left hand side padding assembly, the purple bit on the left side of the deck.

If you have these bits I'd be stoked to do a deal, as my ski is looking pretty second hand at the moment!

    Phone is 021 329 021

There's a guy on the PWCToday site www.pwctoday.com who's breaking an SXI. Might be worth a try. He's called impact196, so look him up on their member list.

Wax reckons you can get stuff sent from the 'states for a reasonable rate by using USPS.

    Good luck.

I've managed to get a new left side padding assembly.

I found a pole bracket at watercraft world, he wants a couple of hundred for it - sounds pretty pricey, anyone know if thats a reasonable price?

I welded my one up years ago on my SXI. Suprisingly the casting isn't made of the usual muck metal and welds quite well. Any engineering shop should be able to help you out. Where do you live I may be able to recomend someone.

Only problem with welding it up is that it is probably washed up somewhere on the foreshore by now for-sure... Will have to be a custom job...

True, I don't have the bits that came off - missing in action unfortunately.

I'm sure someone must have an old wrecked sx or sxi that they can use for spares. With some luck I might be able to find one, if I can't find a replacement then I might look at getting it welded up. Its usable the way it is, I just have to be really careful not to overextend the pole.

And we'll be fitting a pole extension limiting kit when we put it all back together? :D

Had a rope attached to the hood latch at the time, it popped the latch out and opened the hood! Guess I might have been up for a new pole as well if I hadn't had that.
