Im having problems fouling up my rear plug on my twin carb SJ. it's a real pain and I've been trying to lean it off with the Low speed needle adjuster but no luck... I'm guessing I will need to replace the low speed jet or the spring but not sure what to do first. Not to sure what I'm doing with pop off pressures and all that. I'm also assuming it a low speed problem because when I open the throttle it will eventually clean it's self up the run sweet until it fouls with low speed riding. I want to get it sweet before I go putting higher compression domes in. Any input would be great.
check your popoff pressure check resistance in your leads make sure your compressions are good .... some where to start from...
Try cleaning or replacing your needle and seat...You may find your rear carb is leaking and the extra fuel is wetting the plug and fouling So after youve taken Aquanobs advice and switched out your crank...Try giving the carb a good clean or if you dont think your up to it ring Roger and he maybe able to help. Also as the fisrt posted said...trim plug leads...check caps are on tight etc
No sure about the crank but my tuefbis Prety worn so maybe start there? Thanks guys, its nice getting some helpfull info haha the leads are new as are the needle and seat and it's been pulled apart and cleaned regulary and recently. A little bird told me it may have the wrong jet in so I'll have a look this weekend and also check what you've all said. Will let you know what I find
Does any one on the shore have a popped pressure gauge btw? Edit: Fucking predictive txt. I mean popoff pressure gauge...
