  1. What is a personal watercraft?
A personal watercraft (PWC) is a power driven vessel with a fully enclosed hull. It does not take on water if capsized, and is designed to be operated by a person standing, sitting astride or kneeling on it but not sitting within it (i.e. a jetski). (Taken off ARC website)

Therefore; if you fit a shitty scupper valve to the the back of your ski that allows it takes on water when capsized then technically it's no longer a pwc and does not need to be registered.

    stickers

I rang them today, i think you can use your own stickers, ie. match your color scheme..their stickers are 12.50 xtra...so 47.50 total...

You can use ur own stickers as long as they meet the requirements i.e 150mm high (i think) there is no rule on the thickness of the numbers

i was talking to a guy the other day who reckons you can put the reg number sticker on the inside of the footholds as they only need to be visible when coast guard pulls up along side???

anyone done this or can confirm?

    From the ARC website

    What are registration stickers?

Registration stickers are like the number plate on your car. They must be clearly displayed on each side of the craft. If you don't like the look of these stickers you may sign write your numbers on - as long as they are the minimum height of 90mm, and are clearly readable and visible.

Where do the numbers go on the craft?

The numbers must be above the water, clearly visible, and on both sides of the craft.

I would say that putting reg stickers in ur footholds is complete BS. When I did my day skippers course the dude said that there must be a set of reg numbers on each side of the ski so people can note down the reg no. and report it to the coast guard if some one is using a jet ski in a dangerous manner...
