Finally some decent surf is arriving this weekend on the west coast. It's been a rather dry summer surf-wise so far. Will be riding both days. Early Sat and probably late morning Sun.

    • Saturday - Location TBA (Either Port or Karioitahi (way down the beach for the latter to avoid the surf club)). Probably about 9am.
Sunday - Port - Prob 10-10:30am at the ramp.
Post up if you're considering coming and which day. Larger surf forecast for Sat and then nice 2-3ft for Sunday (thats the report at the moment). Be great on Sun for those that want to gain experience in the surf without fearing for their lives.

So how life threatening is riding in the bigger surf on Sat.
Also the second place mentioned do you need 4x4 to launch the skis?

The surf is not that massive on Saturday. None of use have died yet.
You can launch with a 2 wheel drive at both Port Waikato and at Karioitahi.
We use the ramp in the river at Port. Come alone its a fun time.

Doesn't sound like many are coming tomorrow (sat). So Flan and I will go to Karioitahi 8:45am. Will be a quick ride (hr or so) as I need to be home by 11:15.

Sunday - Port ramp at 10am. On the water by 10:30am. If you are coming on Sunday bring two tanks worth of fuel. We will ride back, fuel up, and head out for a second tank. Make the most of the surf we have.

    See you there.
