Don't bother - Get a Yuasa. They last a lot longer. Trust me. I've sunken my ski more times than you've been out in the last year and I haven't had to replace mine yet. Had a MotoBatt and it only lasted a couple of dunkings.
you two homo's should hang out and hold hands! how many moto batts have you had knoxie? like 57? there fuckin junk actually buy one from jet ski drunk & keep your receipt
Ha mark and i never seamed to agree on much these days BUT in regard to batteries im with him and dick We probably have had more than u knoxie dont use them any more
They have had issues in the past for sure but they have sorted them out by the look of it, i have had no issues with mine, mind you i know how to build a jetski unlike you two.
yep thats right norman they are good batteries one of ours has been going for over three years. I've installed one in my car in a superjet battery box and it starts up easy as even on a frosty morning scrap your acid leaking yuasa lol
The guy that started this thread probably still doesn't Know where to buy a yellow battery since That's what he originally wanted to know! Someone from Auckland will have to answer that. My vote is with the yellow ones, all of ours have been sweet.
yea, like Terry, I had a few go bad early on, but they were always replaced under warranty, and they one ive got in my ski now seems to be going good.....but as far as to which battery to go for, Ive found whenever I needed one there often isn't many choices as some types wont be in stock for some time etc etc, so end up getting whatever I can get my hands on...,
Yellow batts I reckon I have sold more motobatts than most and we did have a BIG BUNCH at xmas 2011 that were factory faulty. They replaced every one no questions asked even when they were given to us looking like they had been in a concrete mixer. We have had very few warranties on them for the last twelve months and that is based on sales of over 200 a year which makes them a better option than the lead acids currently. Yes they are available on www.jetskijunk.co.nz (thanks for the plug sicko)as are a number of other options to start your craft.
Lincoln can get the good Yuasa ones James, my Motobatt just crapped itself, i dont understand what the deal is with them as i have one in my Blaster that is old as hell and hardly ever gets used yet doesnt seem to need charging at all
Just to add my 2c, I ran a motobatt in the stuntbike for a season and it shat the bed, deffinately not recommended!! (skis have always had Yuasa)
my 2c we have had them all, if your going to ride surf, big flat landings, upside down landings etc will wreck pretty much any battery it seams batteries seam to last ok in our race skis until we put them in taynes surf hack then they seam to fail (not always )
Warranty...... At least your Motobatt has 12 month warranty so if it fails in that time from flat landing abuse, we still get warranty. Motobatt now have silver terminals and internal links which is yet another upgrade for reliability. They are the only battery I know of that use real silver in construction. If you buy a Motobatt KEEP YOUR RECIEPT for warranty.
