hey guys picked up a red pipe reasonably cheap and just putting it on my ski, its a 06' SJ701. My question is where does the third hose line go to? My standard pipe had 2, red pipe has 3. The manifold and one at the start of the pipe are almost the same so thats easy, but the 3rd is up on top near end of expansion chamber. Also whats the best way to tee in the small line coming off the cylinder head?

I also got some new bars and grips from AJSP, fitting was no problem but they are considerably longer than standard bars. Do you guys cut them to length or just leave them?

    cheers!

Jamie. My SJ is piped as followes. From pump to manifold. After manifold flange that fitting goes to back of the head. The fitting at the top of the pipe goes to my tell tail. The small fitting at the front of the head goes to the end of the pipe in a small dai tube this may be the stinger.

How ever my blaster is piped different. From the pump it goes to the same place. But after the manifold flange it goes directly to the fitting at the end of the pipe bofore the water box. The fitting at the back of the head has a T and goes to the tell tail and the fitting at the top of the pipe. The small fitting at the front of the head is blocked off.

Both are riva pipes and both go well. Not sure which is correct. Hope fully some one can enlighten use.

    Both have been rejetted

    Cheers

thanks for taking the time to check Flan, interesting that the 2 setups are different. Obviously both work well though.
Hopefully Rodger will read this and answer on here that way next time someone asks the same question they can do a search and find it, if he doesn't I'll pm him :)

    thanks guys

Went round to a mates place tonight who I forgot has the same pipe on his blaster, and its the same as your blaster Flan. All makes sense the way its done but wouldn't mind a second opinion.
    cheers

Yer if that is the way they are ment to be I might change th SJ. I thought my SJ was good until I jumped on Taynes yesterday. Hell that thing pulls. Im suprised Taynes arms arnt longer than him.

Yer Terry told me the fruit that is in that machine. With Tayne only carring the same weight as an Ethopian Crack head it sure must excellerate well.

Did you get a set of Star Bars? I got a set and actually prefer the greater width.

Try them first and see how you like them...or ride back-to-back a 'ski with narrower bars and see which you prefer.

I'm assuming you got ODI grips? At least it's not going to cost you a set of grips if you do decide the greater width isn't for you and you need to cut the bars.

I got some blowsion ones and yep the troy lee ODI grips, great system like you say. Good idea about trying both, can't put it back on if I cut them up!
    cheers

Good info on the plumbing work for the blaster 1! Spent a wee while hunting around for this too. I fitted the RIVA RED to my blaster 1 yesterday and its an absolute B$#CH of a job! Ended up removing the engine just to make it easier, also removed the starter and bottom casing bracket which goes to mounts just to clear enough room for my ring open ended spanner for the 2 "centre bolts" everyone complains about on forums. I feel there pain now!! but its all set to be dropped back into the hull today and have new jets and spring for carby to!

I just got some Blowsion Kommander 0 degree bars and ODI Troy Lee grips also, fitted them last week and they are a great setup!

Mate them to one of knoxies turnplates and it will hugely change your ski! Cant believe the difference.

I just had sore forearms after the first couple of rides because of the change in position, all good now though

Red pipe is definitely a headache! I had a real shit time when the manifold flange came loose. I've locktited brand new bolts in there hard! And refuse to ever undo that!

The only other trick is to make sure the exhaust to head bracket is shimmed correctly to ensure excess strain isn't placed on joins.

    My b1 plumbing...
Pump to manifold, rear head fitting tee'd to pisser and top pipe fitting, bottom pipe fitting to stinger.
Also have tapped a 3/8 fitting to front of the head to 2nd pisser witg 4mm restrictor.

So im guessing your running duel cooling? If not id be a bit worried of pumping more water out than what is coming in and get the engine too hot). Yup thats the same way i have set up my line work on my RIVA pipe too. Still yet to trial it in water tomorrow .... definitly sounds alot more "alive" in the engine bay now! Lets hope it goes even better in the surf. Yup i have shimmed between stock exhaust bracket and chamber (probably a 2-3mm gap there will is now taken up.

Yes running single cooling, Steve at Opw put me onto dual outlets, said it's a must given my high comp, 180???I think.
I'll tell you what will overheat one, kinking your pump feed like I did the other day! Rookie mistake!

That 1/8 front head outlet to stinger is an interesting idea too.

I've had my pipe in and bars (standard length) since this post was started and its never missed a beat. The pipe was a bitch to fit up properly so I did it out on the bench
