Just about to do a motor swap on one of my skis, the motor I have runs well but has been a salt water ski and the motor is a tad coroded and shit looking (paints flaking and theres that white flakey acid looking stuff forming).
Basically want to give it a clean up before fitting it to the new ski, whats the best way to clean and repaint without tearing the motor down?

im in the middle of doing the same thing, except the motor is apart.
Degrease it with something like simple green, then wire buff any loose corrosion and sand what u can with 240grit, clean with acetone, mask and hit with a can of eng enamal if ur doin it cheap.
Im using a 2-pak, altex e-line 379, comes up awesome and real durable.
    Hope that helps

Good clean with a degreaser and wire brush.
Get a rattle can of good etch under coat and follow instructions $18
Then use what ever colour you like from the bunnings range of quick dry paints $9 (rattle can )
We do all our motors like this now

You can buy the touch up paint from your local Yamaha dealer for $25 a can.

Like everyone else has said give it a good clean and spray...Its that easy
