Ouch!!!! Is it an easy thing to keep and eye on and keep on top of?

Its not real hard but not as easy as changing the plugs! lol
You have to take the front cover off the engine and try to check the tightness of the screws in the stator using the holes provided in the flywheel.
If you have to take the flywheel off then thats a bit tricky you will need a puller. I had to use a 10 tonne hydraulic puller to get the last one off. Came off with a bang! lol

    re

knoxie had a piece of flat bar with 3 holes that matched the fly wheel an a big bolt in the middle that he made at work, made it real easy!

yea I made a similar thing but it bent the plate and then stripped the bolt! lol
The hydraulic pullers were the only things that would budge my one. We couldnt even get it with standard pullers!

Because its a taper its not really the rght way to just pull it apart
if you get a puller and put the pressure on then just give the bolt on hte puller a tap
it will normally just shock the flywheel iff

Yea thats how I got it off, pulled the tank and gave it a bit of a whack. It hadnt been off in a while though so was well and truly on and had been very nicely tightened!

Fark has anyone priced a new stator $850, mine is lunched, flywheel looks ok. will have to helicoil the crankcase as the screw has been loose.

yea they aint cheap thats for sure!

I got mine off Roger for a good price and I have seen a couple floating around on trade me as well.
  10. Spend the money on a total loss flywheel instead then your upgrading rather than spending $$$ just to have it the same as it was. They can run for ages without havn to recharge + the ski will run wayyy better. You wouldnt catch me payn $850 for a stator...

yeah that 850 goes a long way towards total loss ignition. Do it. Do it. Do it.

not a fan of total loss, had it on a ski and was always worried whether there was enough charge to ride it a decent distance, always had to charge battery before a ride.

You can get your stator coils rewound at any electric motor repair shop,or if your a bit of a do-it yourself person they can sell you the wire to wind yourself, did a waverunner and it only cost about $5 for the wire, but took about an hour because i had to do it twice as i wound it the wrong way first :) incidently the reseaon i had to wind it is the guy who owned it said a stator screw came lose stuffed the magnets on the flywheel also but stator was cheap to fix.

    re

yeah i put helicoils in mine an plenty of lock tight, also i used hex drive dome head bolts so could get them nice an i tight!DONT use standard hex drive bolts cause the heads end up hitting the magnets on flywheel!

Log onto www.ozpwc.com and go to the classifieds. You will see member 'bullet' sells oem. Superjet stuff directly out of Japan. A 62T stator is AUS $410 + postage.

    Hope this helps.
