Hi guys and gals, I have Been reading and watching the vids of you lot riding in the surf doing back flips and rolls quite a bit. Posted on here once before but never really introduced my self so HI :) to you all and thought I would ask a question.

Was wondering how hard it is and how long it takes to learn. I can't get a SJ this year (saving for Wedding) :D but will be getting one next year. so yeah dose it take years to get to that level fun.

I only got a raider at the moment and very limited SJ riding time but keen as hell to learn. 8)

    Hi and welcome back.

My advice would be to sell the raider and go buy a superjet. Having to wait a long time for what you want really sucks!

Once you get the hang of the basics and can ride around on the flat without geting your hair wet then you should be sweet for port waikato on a friendly day.

You might suprise yourself and get good real quick..

Hi Capt. Yeah waiting for a long time sure dose suck but unfortunately I have no other option and can’t sell the raider at the moment.

Ok so it sounds like you need to be quite good at riding an SJ before hitting the surf. No problem will just have to learn fast. :)

What's Orewa like for starting on one of those?
Also how do you post a pic or two I have some nice shots of one of you guys at pauanui?

The quicker you ride in the surf, the better in my opinion...

Gt the SJ, kit it out for surf, find a bunch of experienced riders and join them for their rides...

Surf riding and flat water riding has very little in common...

you get better the more you ride

Ok sweet get a JS ready for surf and just ride every where I can as much as possible.

Was really wowed by the power, acceleration and throttle response of the SJ with a few mods (pipe, prop, intake grate, msd) compared to my 1100 raider that I thought had some good power for its size and age quite a big difference.

where do you guys ride the most?

Tauranga is a nice place reminds me of Durban South Africa used to watch the guys riding in the surf there was awsome.

Rickster do you lanch in the harbor and ride around to the surf in Tauranga. When I was there last year the surf looked quite nice.

To be fair, I have not ridden in two weeks, but yeah, we normally launch at the mount and head over to the island to ride...

    HBsuperjet1 is just jealous....

Definitely, and you don't need a SJ to ride.... If you bring the couch out, you have to carry the drinks and spare fuel....

Hi freesoul, No unfortunatly not. I used to just watch and dream about riding. The white micro buss does ring a bell though. I used to be up and down durban beach front on a BMX bike quite a bit.
