    Hi
My idle gear that the starter spins is starting to slip, or not catch the the ring gear for what ever reason. Can they be pulled apart and serviced? And can the sprag gear/clutch be replaced on its own, thats even if it has one? 'I havent seen how it engages yet?' They are $440 ex japan so wanna check out my options.
    Cheers Dave

Yes as white sox said those ones on trade me are a good buy as they are good quality and you cant really rebuild your old one properly.

If they are gold Goki bendix's, then they are crap... A used OEM is worth more and will last longer than a new aftermarket.

Will check what brand when I get home.
Used to think used OEM was better too until I got stung, you have no way of telling how old used is how many starts it has done and how long til those springs let go.. At least you know new is new, just make sure it's reasonable quality.

Well, I guess I'm used to buying good used Bendix's for $100 NZD, which means if you get 2-3 years out of them (riding every week minimum) then it's a bargain...

Maybe I should bring some over to sell...
