Hi, I got a plastic one from gp enginering. Some people will say they are shit. I have never had any problems with mine. They are cheep give a great clearance dont corode and it is better to were out a piece of plastic than an impaller. I have had mine in for five years without a fault.

There is a guy in rotorua that does them for $225-250...you just send him your prop and wear ring and he inserts a stainless sleeve and machines it all to suit.

    Mciver engineering

I will post all his details monday as ive got them at work

No I just orderd one for a waveblaster one. I removed the old stainless one and welded the pump housing as it had split due to corosoin. I then pressed the plastic in bolted it all back up. On first start the impaler spat some small amounts of plastic out but all good since then.
I will be doing the same to my SJ one day.

Chris, for $250 send your prop and wear ring to Rotorua... I have gone the plastic wear ring route, and if you get a season out of them, you either do not ride, or your lucky as hell...

In fact I have the plastic wear rings here and am changing over to SS due to the excessive wear and tear...

For like an extra $100-150 you can get a one piece stainless housing from Ajsp brand new won't swell

Plastic ones are rubbish one good grateful of sand and shells and its worn out and you lose all your bottom end. Full stainless are the best or new genuine yamaha.
  10. Get a stainless one from Craig at AJSP and save yourself some hard ache later.

I think you may need to speak to people who have been in the game for more than five minutes as the plastic ones have been in Seadoo for ever and given the number of them out there, we replace bugger all per season. How ever if you get a rock in your pump with a stainless liner you will find the prop is the weakest link. Chuck away wear rings are way cheaper than props and good riders try and stay out of the rocks.

Agreed. Mine has been in the blaster for a few years and got a heap of use. Still fine and a great clearance

Personal opinion.... Don't come on here Dr seadoo and start rubbishing everyone else... You know nothing about me and my business, or history so kindly keep your comments about the questions and not trying to stir up everyone else on here.... We have Norm for that... Flan im pleased to hear you have had a good run out of your pump.

In no way im trying to stir anyone up but lets be honest here...3/4 of the people out there riding pwc's wouldn't even know what a wear ring is and if they are getting prop spin!

The plastic ones seem to work in sitdowns ok but what ive seen is that in the surf they dont last that long with the amount of sand and shells we put though them....

And yes...Norm is a master of some sorts???...What that is i have no idea lol.
