Spoke to organiser today , will be similar deal to last year, need to sign waiver etc , so I need a list of names and email addresses to send them to. And again, if there is some surf , then all good. However if there is none they will have some launches or something that puts up a good wake..which means depending on how many riders we have, we will have to limit who gets to ride, as its too risky having too many people out and around these expensive boats at one time. SO i have PMed those who have expressed interest of participating to get your email addys, anyone who hasn't heard from me, send me a PM.
If you are going to Whitanga remeber that you need to purchase a trailer permit to leave your trailer by the beach. They are six dollars a day and can be purchased at most garages
I never received a pm. Am I allowed to ride? Also Chris Hale better be riding because this is his annual event and if there is no surf he is the only one that can do flat water tricks so he needs to get his shit together and bring his ski this weekend!
I was talking to the local cop in Tairua around new years and he thought the trailer parking bylaw was a joke and he wasn't going to be enforcing it!
Hey guys ...sent an email around to ya all......basically saying I still aint got anything from the organisers so if they need waivers signed it will have to be on the day....which I cant see being too much of a problem..........also still not sure when we supposed to be on!!!
Trailer Permit All the signs have gone becuase of the vandals in the area keep ripping them down. I can find out weather the parking permit would be an issue or not through my contacts, but i doubt with an event like this its not something they will be overly worried about. Its not the police that are enforcing it now, they are using the harbourmasters and the council wardens to enforce it. Ill do some checking with my contacts but cant see it been a problem with been their as part of the event.
Why bother, we havnt been told when or where we are on. And there is nor anyway, i say lets get Animal!!
OK........sounds like we will be on in-between the jetski races between 10 to 12 on saturday. We will evaulate the surf or lack off in the morning to see if we will need a big launch or something to loop around making wake. Still waiting on waiver forms....but can always just sign on the day.
i was down in pauanui at easter and was told by my uncle that the ramp tarrif was cancelled, heaps of boat trailers were there and no one had permits.
With this event been organised and run the way it has the parking permit is not likely to be policed by council or police from what i have been told (In the Know Contact). People are boycoting it everywhere as they argue that if they buy a permit does that garuntee them a parking spot. Fair call too! Problem is the money collected from the parking permits goes towards cleaning the sand and likes from the boat ramps as the local rate payers are not paying for it anylonger, As it used to be a part of their rates but council has now changed that as "User Pays" which i can see fair call too.
